What is a Wild Woman?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe is the Life\/Death\/Life force, she is the incubator. She is intuition, she is far-seer, she is deep listener, she is loyal heart. She encourages humans to remain multi-lingual; fluent in the languages of dreams, passion, and poetry. She whispers from night dreams, she leaves behind on the terrain of a woman\u2019s soul a coarse hair and muddy footprints. These fill women with longing to find her, free her, and love her.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is ideas, feelings, urges, and memory. She has been lost and half forgotten for a long, long time. She is the source, the light, the night, the dark, and the daybreak. She is the smell of good mud and the back leg of the fox. The birds tell us secrets belonging to her. She is the voice that says, \u2018This way, this way.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The above quote is from a post<\/a> I wrote ten years ago in 2014 when I was first finding my Wild Woman.  I am not even a semblance of the person I was then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just returned this past weekend from an Encounter Your Wild weekend<\/a> hosted by Marjorie Caico-Long of Birmingham.  As I was driving to the weekend, I felt this visceral pull towards the side of the road, where there was this beautiful dead red fox.  And it brought me back to five years ago and  another dead fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

September right Before Covid started here in the US, I attended the annual Gather the Women<\/a> gathering in Maine.  And although we had no idea what was coming, there were feelings of ‘Endings’ in the air. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retreat as every Gather the Women retreat has been was amazing and potent and Soul Filling.  And it ended for me with this Lyft driver running over a beautiful red fox on the way to the airport.  Below is my 7 minute story of that.  The short version as my friend so aptly summarized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although I have sat in many Circles, attended many festivals, online events and a few gatherings, this past weekend was the first time since this event that I have been in an in person gathering of Wild Women filled with Circling, singing, laughing, crying and ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It filled my Soul.  And also served as a reminder of just how very far I have come.  I heard myself in the eight other women attending.  I watched Marjorie and her beautiful daughter sitting side by side radiating love and compassion.  Unlike times in the past, I felt no pity for myself as my relationship with my mother fell short of this instead I felt only hope and gratefulness for the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I fell in love with each and every one of those other women.  Grit, strength, love \u2026 we shared our stories and created this bond that will always be there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At our closing ceremony, I found a feather right in front of me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018A glow up is coming,<\/em>\u2019 said my new friend Misti Dian of Iaomai Global.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And as so often happens, when I returned and got back to it, I got slapped in the face with a very difficult day: three completely heart-breaking personal challenges that I needed to deal with while working my remote job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And I got through it.  With a little help from my beautiful red fox who kept popping up in my mind to remind me of possibilities and who I have become.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started my work with Women Spirituality, the divine feminine app<\/a> and Circling with a mother\u2019s group I had formed called Fox River Mamas.  Yes, wild, isn\u2019t it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Threads linking us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a new day and a new world we are building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stay Wild.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My story from 5 years ago following the Gather the Women gathering:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing a 7 min story that happened this morning leaving from an Annual Gathering that I attend. From a friend, an astute observation on the story: “The basics: He represents the male mainstream culture with narrow field of view: money, mine, money, me, me, me.\u201d You, on the other hand are to understand that you have a much wider field of view, peripheral vision, ability to see the future and sense what is coming. You are to trust that. He was in control because he was driving the vehicle. Had you been driving, the fox would not have been harmed. Your message? To lead. To trust your vision. To trust that you are in tune with what is needed to bring about a better, more peaceful and connected planet. You are to CLAIM positions of power (driver\u2019s seat) in personal and professional settings.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
