{"id":1053,"date":"2022-06-27T11:51:41","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T11:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thedivinefeminineapp.com\/blog\/?p=1053"},"modified":"2022-06-27T14:00:35","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T14:00:35","slug":"who-were-the-witches-and-where-did-they-come-from","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thedivinefeminineapp.com\/blog\/who-were-the-witches-and-where-did-they-come-from\/","title":{"rendered":"Who Were the Witches and Where Did They Come From?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They came from Idaho, Southern Illinios, Alabama.&nbsp;&nbsp; More and more these days, I go to events, and I am instantly transported to a different world.&nbsp; Meeting close, fast friends in a blink of an eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This weekend I went to a Cacao Ceremony and Solstice Women\u2019s Circle hosted by Clare of Full Womb Wellness.&nbsp; About thirteen of us.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feeling at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One: a herbalist who lives on 160 acres in Southern Illinois.&nbsp; Doulas.&nbsp; Masseuses.&nbsp; Reiki masters.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Instantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crying.&nbsp; Laughing.&nbsp; Sharing.&nbsp; Creating our world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The world outside that blue shining bubble?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clare lives out in the country west of Nashville, Tennessee. I was blissfully driving there lost in my head.&nbsp; I had just come from visiting my soon to be Land on the Tennessee\/North Carolina border in the Blue Ridge mountains, and I was floating around thinking plans when my phone shut down.&nbsp; All of a sudden in the middle of nowhere, with less than a quarter of tank of gas and no idea where I was nor where I was going.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019ve done this before and told myself I would not do it again.&nbsp; But I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My charger did not work in the car because it has a Micro-USB on the end and has to be plugged in. Third home I knocked on, a man in a pony tail and his wife peaked fearfully around the door.&nbsp; He just about closed the door in my face before I could get my question out of my mouth, \u201cI\u2019m on my way to an event, and my phone died.&nbsp; Would there be anyway I could plug this in for five minutes?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No.&nbsp; No.&nbsp; No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So.&nbsp; Much.&nbsp; Fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Well, do you know where the nearest gas station is?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018No.&nbsp; We just moved here.&nbsp; You\u2019re in the middle of nowhere.&nbsp; There is not one.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Well.&nbsp; Okay,\u2019 I said, preparing to leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2018Wait.\u2019 The woman said.&nbsp; \u201cWhere are you going?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhite Plains.&nbsp; I have the address in the car,\u201d I turn to get it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cNo.&nbsp; No!!!&nbsp; We won\u2019t know where it is anyhow. There is no White Plains around here\u201c&nbsp; So anxious to get me going, but the woman offers, \u201cWhite Bluff, you mean? Keep going down this road. About five miles you will come to a highway.&nbsp; Turn right and there will be a gas station.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWonderful.&nbsp; Thank you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier, I had called a friend, and she was angry.&nbsp; Understandably angry about the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision.&nbsp; She spoke of it and when I talked of my Land, she said, \u2018Yes!&nbsp; Let\u2019s make a place for women only.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u2019t have the heart to tell her that I just came from my Land with a new friend of mine:&nbsp; a man who I happen to like a lot.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You cannot blame the world blanketly on a group of people.&nbsp; That is after all what got us into this situation.&nbsp; Divisiveness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One by one: I usually find people good, loving, kind.\u00a0 As a group.\u00a0 Not so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why we need to gather.&nbsp; Heart to heart.&nbsp; In person.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clare began the Circle with the song, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SUvXg7VhKsI\">Who Were the Witches<\/a>\u201d pushing the boundary of comfortable with the word Witch which has swung to the other side with its trendiness at the moment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No.\u00a0 Not those.
